HOME FIELD PROSPECTING

ALL CONTENT UNDER DEVELOPMENT. PLEASE BE PATIENT

Not everyone has an established place to gather, and that’s okay.

Some current and prospective chapters already have a home base—a local airfield or private strip where they meet, fly, and hang out. But if you don’t, that doesn’t mean you’re grounded. You may just need to find a place to get off the ground, literally and figuratively.

Whether it’s an existing airfield that’s underused, a private grass strip that is falling into disrepair, or even just a piece of land that could one day become a great new home base, we’re here to help. We’re developing outreach materials, templates, and support tools to help you approach landowners, farmers, and airport managers to show them the benefits of supporting grassroots aviation and how hosting a local Fatties chapter can be a win for everyone involved.

It’s all part of the Fatties mission—to keep aviation accessible, community-driven, and boots-on-the-ground real, no matter where you’re starting from.

Because every great flying club starts with one thing:

A place to land, and people who want to be there.
